The Circulatory system
The circulatory system is the system of blood. The system is responsible for transporting nutrients through the body. The system has three major parts. The heart, blood, and blood vessels. They all work together to transport vital nutrients to each and every cell. How this works is the heart pumps blood and sends these cells through a highway like thing called blood. Blood is a red substance that helps transport these cells through the body. After they make their runs they come back and go to the heart. Then it pumps again and again continuing to give the nutrients to the whole body. You need this system to survive in every day living.
Facts:
1. The heart beats about 3 billion times in one life time.
2. Every second 80,000 blood cell die and the same number are born.
3. In one tiny drop of blood there is five million blood cells.
Disorders:
1. Polyarteritis Nodosa is a small inflammatory disease in the small to medium arteries.
2. Deep vein Thrombosis is when a blood clot forms in one of the deep veins.
3. Atherosclerosis is the hardening of arteries. this is from built up plaque in the arteries.
Other systems that work with this one are:
1. The circulatory system works with the systems of digestive, endocrine, respiratory, lymphatic, muscular, skeletal.
