Respiratory System
Function-
The wonderful Respiratory System exchanges gasses in a body. It move clean fresh air into the body, and takes gross ugly waste gasses out of the body. Without this system we wouldn't be alive today.
Parts-
There are many different parts / organs in the respiratory system. The main functions are the nose, mouth, trachea, bronchi, and most importantly the lungs. There are also many more organs to this creative system
Facts-
.Do you know what causes a hiccup? A hiccup is a sudden movement of the very special diaphragm. The diaphragm may have gotten irritated by possibly eating to fast or blood could of been the problem.
.Why do people yawn? Have you ever noticed when you are sleepy you do everything slower than normal? Well, when you are sleepy and slow this causes air shortage. You are not getting enough oxygen in your body, this signals the brain that you are losing oxygen. Therefore your brain makes you take a long deep breath.
.Did you know that your right lung is slightly larger than your left?
Disorders-
.An infection can easily damage the respiratory system. If an infection starts any where in the system it can shorten oxygen getting inside you and carbon dioxide coming out.
.You could also get asthma that cause the air ways of the lungs to swell and narrow. This could be a big problem in the respiratory system.
.Cystic Fibroses is also a major disorder in the respiratory system. It could mean life or death. This causes warm sticky mucus to build up in the lungs.
Other systems that work together-
The skeletal system works with the respiratory system because the skeletal system which includes the ribs works as a shield and it protects the lungs.
.The circulatory system works at the respiratory system because it transports oxygen to the body cells. It transports nutrients to keep the lungs clean.
.The nervous, muscular, and digestive system also work with the respiratory system.

- The Nose / Mouth is one of the ways air / oxygen can enter smoothly into the Respiratory system.
- The Trachea and Bronchi- A nice healthy passage leading from the throat into the lungs but, it gets divided by the Bronchi which leads into each lung. (Right, left lung)
- Diaphragm- This is a main function in the respiratory system and the muscular system. It moves to allow air in and out of the lungs.
- Lungs- Your lungs are very special organs in your body that all your body to exchange gases.
